Please read our rules. Once you've read our rules, you can enter the chatroom by clicking on the link at the bottom of this page.

While we try to keep #teenchatz as safe and sane as possible, there are a few basic rules we ask that you follow to maintain the pleasant atmosphere of the room. Please observe and respect these rules while chatting with us, or you will be removed from the chatroom by one of our chat operators.

1. Foul Language is OK, UNLESS it becomes excessive or malicious towards another user. If you cuss here and there, that's OK. If every few lines you're saying something like "F--- this", "F--- that", then that becomes excessive, and you will be removed from the chatroom.
2. No Flooding.
   If you're typing more than 5 lines of text in 5 seconds, you're flooding.
3. No advertising.
   First, nobody wants to see your website or your MySpace page, so don't paste it. Email addresses are okay. Also advertising your chatroom is not OK either. You will be removed without warning if you are posting links to other chatrooms.
4. No harassment.
   If a user isn't bothering you, then don't bother them. If you try to talk to someone and they ignore you, then take the hint and don't bother them. Do not keep bugging people, and if a user says they don't wish to talk to you, please respect their wishes.
5. No cybersex in public.
   If you ask for cybersex in the main room, you will be warned on your first offense. Second time you will be banned. This isn't a place for horney little kids to gather. This is a clean chatroom. What you do in your bathroom with the door locked, is your business. We don't care about it.
6. No racism or sexism.
   If you offend anyone with your nick, or your statements are racist or sexist, this is against our rules.
7. No clones.
   If you need to talk to yourself, write yourself a letter. We don't need multiple connections from you in the chatroom. If you do, all of your connections will be disconnected. (Yes, we really can tell what are clones, and what aren't.)
8. No mp3 scripts.
   There are a hundred media players around. Nobody on IRC cares what you're listening too, so keep it to yourself.
9. No asking for access.
   The quickest way to not become channel staff, is to ask for access. Got it?
10. No excessive caps.
    If you're too lazy to hit your caps lock key, or too rude to do it, and you insist on yelling at everyone then that becomes excessive and you will be muted from talking in the room.
11. Age limit is 25yrs old.
    Sometimes #teenchatz gets older users. While we allow up to 25 years old, if anyone over the age of 18 is caught trying to pick up our younger users, you will be banned. We protect our younger users.
    * Staff members are exempt from the age rule *
12. Only staff members enforce rules.
    Rules are subject to change without notice, and it might be a while before this page is updated. Staff will always be updated with new rules, so that's why we ask that only staff enforce rules. If you feel like you know the rules and can enforce them, then perhaps you should consider a VOP position.
13. Anything an op deems necessary.
    In case anything was left out, this rule is here to allow an OP to enforce a rule that they feel is needed, if you become a disruption to the chatroom. With this rule, you will get a warning before being removed.

On your first offense, you will be warned by a staff member.
On your second offense, you will be kicked from an OP.
On your thirt offense, you will be banned from the chatroom.
If you continue to be disruptive, you will be referred to a SOP or Manager to be placed on our channel AKICK list. This will prevent you from joining the channel as long as you're on the list

If you feel as though you've been treated unfairly by one of our staff members, you can submit a complaint form here to the channel managers. This will be sent to the managers of the chatroom to investigate. This can be completely annonymous but nicks do help. As an option, you can post on the forums also for all to see.
