about
Teenchatz is an IRC based chatroom, that lies on the Webchat IRC network. You can get to #teenchatz from a variety of websites, as well as IRC, on irc.webmaster.com.

Teenchatz was founded in 1999 by JavaColours after the late Teenconnection. We have seen our highs and lows in the room. Our lowest user count is probably single digits, and our highest level is somewhere around 170. Over the past few years, the usercount has dropped off. The main reason of this is due to the amount of other chatrooms out there. We're striving to help teenchatz regain its popularity. Please tell your friends about us, and have their friends tell their friends, and so forth. The more people, the funner.

mIRC

IRC (Internet Relay Chat) is a virtual meeting world, where people from all over the globe can meet and talk. You will find the whole diversity of human interests, ideas, and issues here. You'll be able to participate in group discussions on one of the many thousands of IRC channels, on hundreds of IRC networks, or just talk in private to family or friends, wherever they are in the world.

To use IRC you need a small program like mIRC, an IRC client for Windows, written by Khaled Mardam-Bey. mIRC is a friendly IRC client that is well equipped with options and tools. mIRC is shareware, which means that you can download mIRC and try it out freely for 30 days to evaluate it. If during, or at the end of, the evaluation period you decide that you would like to continue using mIRC, you must register your copy.

You may obtain the latest version of mIRC, at www.mirc.com

Once you get mIRC downloaded and installed and setup, you may connect to us by typing /server irc.webmaster.com:6669 and then /join #teenchatz
